In recent years, our hospitality ministries have expanded considerably—and now include, the Young Adults Group, the LOVE Group, the men's Chill and Grill, and the annual Men's Retreat.  Building stronger personal relationships in small groups does amazing things to energize life in our St. Paul's community.

Foyers is the oldest hospitality ministry at St. Paul's.  Each church year, we have two or three smaller groups (six or seven people) or one large group (as many as 20) of couples and singles - and of all ages - that meet monthly, usually in a member's home for a meal together.  The host usually provides the entree' and the host suggests what the other members might bring to a compliment the meal.  At present, Hannah Orlowski is the coordinator of Foyers.

The Young Adults Group is mostly younger couples - although singles in their 20s and 30s are certainly welcome - who meet frequently in each other's home for a meal and an evening of fellowship.

The L.O.V.E. in LOVE Group stands for Loyal, Older, Valued, Episcopalians.  The group of men and women (55-plus) meet on the second Wednesday of each month for a catered lunch in the Parish Hall.  Usually, there is a speaker, and the group has been bringing "wish items" for such charities as Lily Pad and Albany Advocacy Resource Center.

The men's Chill and Grill, also meets monthly - beginning in January 2010 on the third Thursday of each month.  Usually, the evening includes an hour that focuses on "chillin" and then the group grills on the terrace in the church garden.  Each man providces his own steak, chops, or chicken breakst - and leader Tim Davis fills in with a variety of outstanding dishes.  The group also has been hosted in several private homes.  Each year, there are two highlights for certain: a homemade chili contest and a Low Country Boil, which is masterfully prepared by "chef" Tim.

St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Albany, GAThe Men's Retreat: for the past two Novembers, a group of men from the parish have spent a weekend near Pine Mountain, Georgia, some camping at the Roosevelt State Park and others staying at the nearby Chalets - where they also gather for fellowship, devotions, and theological conversations.  A variety of outdoor activities also are enjoyed in the area, including fishing and hiking in the state park and golf at nearby Calloway Gardens.
